Physician and herbalist Rudolf Weiss points out that usnic acid, the bitter principle in usnea, has been shown to have “marked antibiotic properties. Even in high dilutions it inhibits the growth of such dangerous bacteria as Salmonella typhosa, which causes typhoid fever.” This valuable herb also has immunostimulatory properties. The German Commission E has approved the use of usnea for mild inflammations of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa.

Administration Contra-indications and Cautions Ingredients
Adults: 90 drops (3mL) 4x daily on an empty stomach (between meals)
Consult a health care practitioner before use if you are taking anti-coagulant medication, and if symptoms worsen or persist. Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use if you have liver or galbladder disorders. Discontinue use if you develop symptoms of liver trouble.
