CHINESE GINSENG: A TIMELESS TONIC FOR MENTAL FATIGUE AND LOW ENERGY

In the long healing traditions of the East, Chinese Ginseng root is considered the ultimate remedy, the king of herbs. In fact, the Chinese called it “the root of immortality”. The discovery of American Ginseng, a related indigenous species, on the North American continent in the 18th century gave this whole class of herbs a well-deserved place in the forefront of Western herbal medicine.

A series of modern studies has confirmed the enduring value of Chinese Ginseng for problems of mental fatigue, highlighting the striking ways in which it improves cognitive function. Echoing the authoritative German Commission E, the World Health Organization (WHO) monograph on this plant approves its use as a preventive and restorative agent for enhancement of mental and physical capacities, in cases of weakness, exhaustion, tiredness, and loss of concentration, and during recovery from illness.(1)

Researchers confirm that Chinese Ginseng raises the body's resistance to stress and boosts energy. The root of this remarkable herb contains compounds called ginsenosides, which seem to diminish stress-inducing hormones, including adrenal hormones that are related to physiological stress.

Chinese Ginseng also has a proven ability to lower blood sugar levels, a quality that some researchers have linked to its fatigue-reducing properties.

Health Canada has given its formal approval to St. Francis Herb Farm’s product, “Chinese Ginseng” (NPN 80011660).
